EDITORIAL POLICY
Editorial policy
Our goal is to publish useful, cautious astronomy guidance that helps people decide when and how to observe the night sky without overstating precision.
Authorship and review
Guides are prepared by the View From Sky Editorial Team and checked through the View From Sky Astronomy Review Desk process before publication. These are role-based labels, not claims of an endorsement by a named professional astronomer. Reviewed guides include citations and freshness information where relevant.
Publication standard
We publish only when a page answers a clear observing question, adds information beyond existing guides and has been checked against the cited sources. Draft material is not treated as published guidance until it completes editorial review.
Corrections and freshness
If a source updates an event time, forecast method or observing recommendation, affected pages should be reviewed and corrected. Pages avoid fabricated local precision and display source citations so readers can check important claims.
Corrections
When we confirm an error, we correct the affected statement rather than silently adding more pages around it. Material corrections should also update the page’s review or verification date.
